Aveea Behaviour Policy (School-Based Sessions)
Our Promise: Safeguarding → Fun → Learning.
From arrival to collection, every child is protected from harm, bullying, abuse, neglect and discrimination so they can enjoy themselves and learn brilliantly.
Scope
This policy applies to all Aveea-led after-school clubs and workshops held on school premises. We follow the school’s behaviour policy first, with Aveea’s STEM-specific safety overlays.
What We Expect
Make it brilliant for others (be kind, encourage, include).
Tune in first time (listen first so the fun starts sooner).
Safe hands, safe space (hands to yourself; move carefully around people and kit).
Tech with care (use as shown; ask before switching on; carry with two hands; report faults).
Give it a go (try, then ask for help, mistakes are part of making).
Leave it better (tidy as you go; reset your station).
Inclusion
We are fully inclusive: every child uses the same tools and materials. We provide reasonable adjustments (e.g., visual prompts, seating choices, brief sensory breaks, quieter task variants) so everyone can take part confidently. We support and stretch - no “special track,” just fair support.
How We Recognise Great Choices
We notice and name specifics: verbal praise, stickers, certificates, and positive messages to parents. Recognition is primarily low-key/private, unless the school prefers otherwise.
If Things Go Wrong (simple ladder)
Reminder
Reset (new seat/role)
Reflection (2–5 mins)
Removal from session
Parent informed (within 24 hours)
Removal from programme.
Repeated incidents: 3 recorded incidents within one term may lead to removal.
Immediate Action (non-negotiables)
The following may lead to immediate removal and investigation: violence/attempted violence, bullying, discriminatory or racist language, leaving the area without permission, tampering with/damaging equipment, dangerous items, sustained abusive language/defiance.
“Gross” incidents (e.g., assault on staff, racial abuse) may result in a 12-month ban. Intentional, malicious damage may be charged to parents/carers in line with school policy.
Safeguarding & Safety
If anything is unsafe or unkind, we stop immediately. We align with school safeguarding procedures. Aveea follows DfE guidance on reasonable force guided movement only to prevent harm and records/reports any such incident to the school DSL.
Communication & Recording
We keep a simple incident log (date, behaviour, response, outcome), shared with the school lead/DSL as appropriate. Parents are informed within 24 hours for notable incidents. Records are retained per Aveea and school policy.
Roles & Escalation
The Aveea Session Lead manages behaviour on site. Serious concerns are escalated to Aveea Management and the school immediately; minor issues are discussed with parents at pick-up.
This policy sits alongside our Terms & Conditions, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, and Complaints Policies.
